The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour won’t only offer sweeping views of Dubai — it’ll also emit a ‘beacon of light’ from its peak after sunset.
The project, developed by Emaar Properties, will feature an oval-shaped bud at its highest point, illuminating the night skies.
The Pinnacle Room — one of the several observation decks in the building — will give residents and spectators 360-degree views of Dubai, Aurecon, the engineering company working on the tower, has confirmed.
The Tower will be the centerpoint of Dubai Creek Harbour, a mega-development that will transform the city’s entire creek area.
“It is an absolute privilege to be entrusted by Santiago Calatrava and Emaar Properties to work on this project, and we have assembled a stellar team to bring this idea to life,” Adrian Jones, project director for The Tower at Aurecon, said in a statement. “The Tower will test the craftsmanship of Aurecon as we play our part in making a mark on the built fabric of mankind,” he added.
The tower’s unique design will evoke the shape of an Islamic minaret, paying homage to the traditional heritage of the United Arab Emirates. A central concrete column will be surrounded by a net of steel cables, adding to the distinct nature of the design.
